In honor of National Comfort Food Day on December 5th, I’ve created a list of where to find some seriously delicious options for comfort food in Rochester.

Fried chicken is the ultimate comfort food and Porch & Cellar has perfected it.  Served with honey butter and homemade biscuits.

Locals rave about the smoked brisket sandwich with the mashed spuds, served with quote “bomb-ass gravy”.

Word on the street is that Hillary’s Farm Pie is a non-negotiable!  A freshly baked piece of pie the size of your head made from scratch using seasonal fruit and served with a scoop of oatmeal ice cream?  Um, okay!?  Yeah… I’ll eat that.

Can’t make it for lunch or dinner?  No prob!  They’ve got a Sunday Brunch that will not disappoint.

Grandma’s Kitchen

If you want to celebrate National Comfort Food Day in Rochester, Grandma’s Kitchen needs to be on your list.

From chicken fried steak & mashed potatoes, to made from scratch Pie by the slice… Grandma’s got you covered.

No frills, no fuss.  It’s the kind of place where you feel like home and the food speaks for itself.

Tap House

Comfort food is all about brining back those happy memories from your childhood and what better than authentic mini donuts!?

Did you even know Tap House has them?  Well now ya do and you’ve gotta run, don’t walk!

These mini donuts are literally exact replicas of the tiny bites of heaven you got at every small town festival & fair.

One of my favorite summer stops is the Tap House rooftop for Mini Donuts & Prosecco but they’ve got them on the menu all year round.

TRR Insider Tip: sometimes they come off the menu but if you ask, the peeps at Tap House will grant your cinnamon and sugary commands.

Pho Chau

A bowl of piping hot soup is one of the ultimate comfort foods.

Local hot spot, Pho Chau, has you covered.  Bowls of Pho the size of your sixth grader are served all day long to hunger and loyal locals.

Regulars swear by the Pad Thai & Spring Rolls but you can’t go wrong with any of their bowls of Pho filled with noodles, meats, and all the toppings your little heart desires.

Are you celebrating National Comfort Food Day? If so, sound off in the comments and share your photos on the Facebook page.
